White Crested Black Polish

White-Crested-Black-Polish

  • A beautiful ornamental bird, which can actually lay a decent sized egg. In spite of the “Polish” in their name, these birds originated in Holland. Smaller than most other chickens, these chickens still do well with other, larger breeds. Their reputation is that they may not do as well in cold climates as some other breeds due to an issue of ice possibly forming on their chests when they drink. We refer to our girls at “Tina Turner” birds due to their somewhat uncanny resemblance to the pop star as she looked in the 1980’s. They are a wonderful addition to any backyard flock.
